The impact of a single pair of shoes

Its quite interesting how a single pair of school shoes can have global impact. Here's a short story of how this is possible: a disadvantaged learner Simangele (age 10) has used the same pair of shoes since Grade 2, she is currently in Grade 5. Apart from the shoes being visibly torn and worn out they are now extremely uncomfortable as she has grown three sizes up yet she is still expected to show up for school daily.
On the other end of the world the United Nations members have adopted The 2030 agenda for Sustainable development with an emphasis on quality education - SDG 4.
Because of Simangele's unfair and uncomfortable circumstance, she stops going to school. Afterall how can she continue going with no shoes? Simangele now forms part of the 1.2% of children in SA that are primary school dropouts (granted, low in comparison to other states but: watch the cycle unfold).
This percentage affects SA's overall contribution to the SDG's globally. Action in one area of development affects others. Therefore a single pair of shoes ignites a negative cycle of poverty and disparity.
This is an issue that can easily be addressed on society level by heeding a simple call to action - DONATE. Individuals and private companies have a responsibility to give back. At HFA, a simple opportunity presents itself - a pair of shoes.
