Happy Family Day

A majority of our beneficiaries are orphaned and currently under the care of guardians, most unrelated to them. This is why Family Day is important for HFA.

On this day we reflect on the importance of connection building and the value of the guardians, volunteers and team members who are positive change agents in the lives of our children. These guiding stars not only support our children with resources but also give their time and understanding to form meaningful relationships.

Connection building and positive change agency work hand in hand to not only teach our children how to engage with each other kindly but also teaches our volunteers the importance of stopping to engage and be present in a busy and time consuming society.

Some common feedback from community members is on the genuine interest and support that they have experienced from the HFA team when conversating with them during activities.

These admirable characteristics make for relationships that extend beyond the boundaries of DNA but more so humanity. We are all human and deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and honor.

Where possible, extend your hand and show compassion to those outside of your family and friend group. Its just like the famous African philosophy says: "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu" meaning "I am, because you are".
